COMING SOON ON FIVE

ann maurice: interior rivalry 2

Ann Maurice, the no-nonsense House Doctor with the flair to make any room shine, is back and on the hunt for Britain’s best home stager. Following on from series one, Ann will be raising the bar as she attempts to discover an exciting new talent, offering a prize worth over £50,000 to the eventual winner. Assisting Ann on her search this time are interior design expert Gordon Whistance and business tycoon Duncan Bannatyne.

From thousands of applicants, 12 have now been selected. In the coming weeks, these hopefuls will be put through their paces via a range of challenges designed to test their eye for design, along with their skills in communication, organisation and business. Aside from a lifechanging opportunity, the winner will also be awarded a £25,000 cash prize, a spread in a top interior magazine, and training and personal mentoring from Ann herself.

house: season 3

Hugh Laurie returns as the curmudgeonly medic in the third season of the acclaimed hospital drama. As the season opens with the episode ‘Meaning’, House is back at work after recovering from multiple gunshot wounds and takes on two cases simultaneously.

The two cases are Richard, paralysed after brain cancer surgery eight years ago, who drove himself and his motorised wheelchair headfirst into a swimming pool; and Caren, a young woman paralysed from the neck down after a yoga session. As House begins to diagnose and treat the pair, the team notices a distinct change in his attitude toward the patients, and Cameron even catches Richard’s wife thanking House for his sensitivity to her husband’s situation.

House believes it is possible that Richard could walk again, but he has no specific medical proof to back up his hunch and the various treatment avenues he pursues lead nowhere. Cameron and Foreman refuse to indulge House and his theories, which they feel he’s pursuing merely to make the case interesting for himself. Cuddy and Wilson also are convinced House is creating a mystery out of Richard’s case to cure his own boredom, but he denies it and becomes more frustrated when his theories do not point to a cure for Richard, forcing House to face an unpleasant truth.

This compelling new drama follows the professional and personal life of Sebastian Stark (James Woods, ‘Casino’, ‘Nixon’), a charismatic, supremely self-confident defence attorney who, after a shocking outcome in one of his cases, ‘switches sides’ by bringing his cutthroat tactics to the prosecutor’s office.

As the head of the Los Angeles District Attorney’s High Profile Crime Unit, Stark is forced to work for his former nemesis, Jessica Devlin (Jeri Ryan, ‘Star Trek: Voyager’, ‘The OC’), the accomplished DA who despises his ruthless strategies. Devlin teams him with a group of young prosecutors who are about to experience the learning curve of a lifetime because, although Stark is seeking to redeem himself, he has no intention of changing his underhand approach to cases just because he is now working for the ‘good guys’.

His young team includes Casey Woodland (Sam Page), a privileged hunk who is arrogant about his abilities as an attorney; Raina Troy (Sophina Brown), a smart new addition to the office; Martin Allende (Alexis Cruz), an intellectual from South Central LA; and the high-powered Madeleine Poe (Sarah Carter), who joins the team to learn from the best. It’s an eye-opening experience for this group of rookies, who quickly learn to use Stark’s brassknuckle tactics in their own cases. With his 16year-old daughter Julie (Danielle Panabaker) rooting for him at home, this legal shark must prove that he can not only play on the other side of the law –but he can win, too.
