Beginning this week on Five is a brand new primetime game show hosted by Sony Radio Award-winning DJ and Five football anchorman Colin Murray, transmiting each weeknight. Eight players enter the game with one mission in mind: to work out who earns what. If they get it right –it’s Payday!
The players know absolutely nothing about each other’s lives, but have jobs that range from bin-man to bio-chemist and taxi driver to tax inspector with wage packets ranging from £10,000 to £100,000. As the game progresses, the players will learn not to trust their first impressions of each other – everyone has been chosen carefully and somone who appears to be a low earner might actually make a lot of money, and vice versa.
Each player must glean as much information about their opponents as possible and then attempt to calculate how much they earn. Snap judgements, prejudice, and general knowledge all feature as each player tries to identify the high earners from the low earners in order to pocket the most money.
