Coming soon to Five is a brand new wildlife series anchored by animal expert Michaela Strachan and ex-‘Blue Peter’ presenter Matt Baker. Airing on weeknights, the series follows the urgent work going on to save and protect animals in the UK and abroad –from large-scale conservation projects protecting endangered species in exotic locations, to tiny wildlife sanctuaries rescuing injured animals in Britain.
The programmes also examine the life-and-death dramas that unfold in vets’ surgeries up and down the country on a daily basis. Michaela Strachan has been a regular face on British television for more than two decades and has been involved with wildlife programming since 1990. Her most recent natural-history show for Five, ‘Michaela’s Wild Challenge’, earned her a BAFTA for Best Presenter at the 10th British Academy Children’s Film and Television Awards. Matt Baker has won two children’s BAFTAs and a Royal Television Society Award for his work on the BBC’s ‘Blue Peter’. Currently, he co-presents ‘Countryfile Summer Diaries’ on BBC 1 and hosts ‘Open Country’ for Radio 4.
