Belle is attacked by an unknown assailant. Melody continues to behave badly. Alf grows suspicious of Bridget. Charlie drowns her sorrows. Annie gets trapped inside a storm drain.
Shockwaves reverberate through Summer Bay this week when Belle is admitted to hospital after a vicious assault. She did not see her attacker, but Aden is adamant that it must have been the vengeful Angelo. While Belle’s ex denies any involvement, he does admit that the pair recently argued. Angelo is put on suspension from police work until further investigation can be done. But with no eyewitnesses, how will Belle be able to confirm Angelo’s guilt?
Meanwhile, Melody’s rebellion spirals further out of control. Not only is she dating bad boy Mathew, she is also sneaking out at night, drinking and talking back to teachers in class. Her friends are worried, but Nicole assures them they need to let the girl make her own mistakes. When Nicole hears that local mischief maker Karl has invited Melody to a party, she realises her friend may have bitten off more than she can chew this time. She pays an emergency visit to Karl’s house to find him taking advantage of a very drunk Melody…
Meanwhile, Bridget pulls the wool further over everyone’s eyes as she books an unexplained trip to Darwin – using funds she has stolen from Alf’s business. Eventually she confesses to him that her cancer has returned and she is going out of town for further treatment. Taking pity on Bridget, Alf asks his girlfriend to stay in Summer Bay so he can take care of her. Has Bridget deceived Alf yet again?
After being unceremoniously dumped by Roman, Charlie has been immersing herself in work by day and drowning her sorrows in the evenings. But she soon decides it is time to swallow her pride and get on with her life. However, a chance meeting with her ex quickly develops into a heated argument. Although Roman claims that he still cares about Charlie, she refuses to believe this. After all, if he cared so much, he would have given their relationship more of a chance. She storms off, leaving Roman wondering whether there is any truth to Charlie’s barbed words.
Also this week, Annie and Jai go looking for VJ when he goes exploring inside a storm drain. During the hunt, Jai finds the boy – but Annie becomes lost in the underground maze. The police are alerted and Charlie coordinates a search of the intricate system of tunnels. But as storm clouds gather over Summer Bay, fears mount for the missing girl…
