Steve’s life hangs in the balance. Toadie struggles to cope when Callum acts out. Donna’s surprise party for Elle goes awry. Will Ty ever play the guitar again?
Steve continues to languish in a hospital bed this week as Nicola denies any involvement in his illness. Miranda vows to expose her sister and alerts the police to her suspicions. Searching for evidence of Nicola’s guilt, Bridget finds the container with the contaminated food that her aunt gave to her dad. With this proof, Miranda confronts Nicola and is able to extract a confession. Miranda turns her sister in to the police and the shock of her arrest pushes Nicola over the edge of sanity. Held at the police station, she claims that she is ‘Miranda’ and that Steve is her husband. A furious Miranda believes her sister is up to her old tricks by feigning amnesia – but could it be real?
Elsewhere, Callum is having a hard time understanding how the Nicola he loved could have done such terrible deeds. As the young lad begins to misbehave, his teacher raises concerns about his home environment. And when Callum uses the rubbish bin to torch Nicola’s belongings, Toadie makes the difficult decision to stop caring for him. It is only after the boy has gone that Steph gives Toadie a stern talking to and forces him to realise that he has made a terrible mistake. Can Toadie bring Callum home?
Meanwhile, Donna takes matters into her own hands when she learns it is Elle’s birthday. She organises a surprise party for her new friend and even convinces Lucas to break off his date with Elle in order for the surprise to succeed. Unfortunately, Elle does not take too kindly to being stood up, and rings Lucas to accuse him of still having feelings for Libby. Her outburst coincides with her arrival home, where everybody is waiting for her – including Libby. The awkward atmosphere at the party is not helped by Elle’s apparent lack of friends, and she lashes out at Donna for setting up her public humiliation.
Also this week, Ty struggles to cope with the prospect that he may never play the guitar again. Rachel urges Ringo to apologise for causing Ty’s injury, but this only makes matters worse. And Donna tries to make amends with Elle by patching things up between her and Lucas.
