Father & Son Spoiler

Father and Son, is a new four part drama which is set against the backdrop of Ireland’s once thriving  economic resurgence, Father and Son depicts the complex  modern inner city life where crime is now a massive business and where weapon and gun culture is an ever more ingrained part of everyday life. Michael O’Connor (Dougray Scott) a previous criminal returns to Manchester from a quiet life in Ireland to save his adolescent teenage son from prison, but also with the task to redeem his own disturbed history.

ITV’s Director of Drama Commissioning, Laura Mackie, is overjoyed with the project: “Father and Son is a compelling, multi-layered thriller that will engage and entertain with every plot twist and turn. The scripts are undeniably gripping and the cast is very impressive.”    

Executive Producer Andy Harries (The Queen, Prime Suspect), said: “Frank Deasy has created an amazing portrait of urban life which is researched meticulously. It’s a surprising and stunningly original piece of writing. Brian Kirk is a director I have admired for a long time and he has a really brilliant partnership with producer, Michael Casey.”

Dougray Scott has stared in a number of fantastic film and TV thrillers, his part as Sean Ambrose in the second of three in the Mission Impossible. Scott’s part in the Mission Impossible movie was that of a mentally disturbed Scotsman, who had came to possess a very dangerous virus known as Chimera; Ambrose plots to sell the cure of this disease to the highest bidder and is threatening to release this disease into the public and create a huge epidemic of this fatal disease.
