Sass stuns Donna with a shocking revelation. Declan has a brush with death. Dan chooses to stage Toadie’s play. Will Ty follow his heart? Rebecca falls for Paul again.
This week, Donna presses ahead with her plan to ‘divorce’ her mother. When Donna returns to live with Elle, Sass hits back by stealing Elle’s cat. Elle eventually finds the poor moggy hiding under number 24, but her claustrophobia prevents her from rescuing the animal. Declan duly obliges, only to be electrocuted by some loose wiring. Neighbours rush to help, but it is Paul who saves the day by performing CPR on Declan. Already struggling to fight her feelings for the wily Robinson, Rebecca is annoyed that Paul has once again made it difficult to hate him. Meanwhile, Donna blames Sass for Declan’s accident and urges her to leave town. But Sass replies by sharing a shocking truth – Matt is not Donna’s father!
Elsewhere, Dan hopes the successful staging of the school play will win him a permanent job as principal, but he faces a rebellion from his actors. Zeke and Sunny present a petition declaring that the play is too boring. As Dan casts around for a new play, Callum slips him a copy of Toadie’s script, which is loosely based on his real-life relationship with Steph. Dan persuades a reluctant Toadie to let the school stage his masterpiece, but Steph is not best pleased when she finds out about Toadie’s portrait of her as ‘the girl next door’.
It is the end of the road for one neighbour this week as Ty finally realises the depth of his feelings for Rachel. However, he admits he is scared of joining her and crowding her life in the UK. With Toadie’s help, Rachel sends Ty a heartfelt video message insisting they are meant to be together and invites him to live with her overseas. The kids are disappointed to lose their band leader, and even try to hide his passport to make him stay. But once all the confusion is sorted out, Ramsay Street bids Ty farewell.
Also this week, Rebecca and Paul share a lingering kiss. Elle ensures that Sass leaves Erinsborough. Zeke is forced to expose himself as Lost Boy in a bid to show Donna how much they all care about her. Lucas tries to help Elle battle her fear of confined spaces. And Bridget accepts when Declan pops the question – but is she truly committed to the idea of getting married?
