Belle and Aden’s engagement proves to be bittersweet. Angelo breaks up with a shocked May. Annie and Jai get lost in the bush. Could Trey’s sinister actions lead to disaster?
This week, a delighted Aden accepts Belle’s marriage proposal. He wants to save up their money for a big wedding, but Belle is keen to get hitched straight away. Rachel is surprised to hear about the engagement and is concerned when she learns that Belle has not told Aden the tragic news about her health – she is dying and only has weeks to live. An oblivious Aden enlists Gibbsy to help him get Belle’s ring back from Clint. With the gem returned to its rightful owner, Aden then proposes back to Belle, who joyfully accepts. Rachel is adamant that Aden deserves to know the truth, but Belle cannot bring herself to break the bad news. She decides to tell Aden everything after the wedding – but how much longer can she continue to live a lie?
Elsewhere, Angelo tells Charlie that he is not serious about May, and he eventually ends the relationship. When Angelo tells Charlie he is single again they start kissing – and May sees them! Angelo hopes he and Charlie can begin seeing each other, but she is worried about the reaction she will face, especially from Jack’s family. A devastated May decides to leave the bay, and accuses Charlie of being a coward for only seeing Angelo in private. May’s words give Charlie food for thought, and she decides to commit to Angelo. But how will the town respond to their relationship?
Meanwhile, the trek gets underway in the bush. Jai and Annie take a shortcut but end up getting lost. Annie notices that Jai’s wound has become infected and she is shocked when he collapses. As the sun goes down, the pair are still missing. Bartlett and Miles eventually find the youngsters the following morning, but Jai is in a very bad way. The pair arrange to take Jai to the old fire trail so Alf can drive him to hospital, while the rest of the students get the bus back to town. As the students enter the bus, it becomes clear that Trey is up to something. Once everyone is on board, Trey announces that the bus is wired to blow up! Is this the end of the line for Summer Bay’s teens?
Also this week, Irene struggles to save Lou’s ailing business. An incident at work acts as a wake-up call for a stressed Rachel. Kirsty continues to lie to Miles about taking the pill – but is he about to discover her secret? Angelo’s investigation into the abalone racket intensifies. And Martha and Hugo’s relationship faces opposition from an unexpected quarter…
