Family! Birthday Party

Weekdays at 9.05am

The fascinating documentary series continues, focusing on the everyday life of the Warner- Taylor family from Norfolk. This week’s episodes centre on four-year-old Jaid Warner-Taylor and her six-year-old brother, Josh.

Four-year-old Jaid Warner-Taylor and her six-yearold brother Josh live with their mum, Melanie, and dad, Dan, in a rural village on the edge of the Norfolk Broads. The family are just a few miles from Great Yarmouth and the beach.

Jaid is feisty and fun, and can be a bit like a bull in a china shop. She has a cheeky, mischievous side. Jaid loves ballet and attends weekly classes. She also enjoys going to her local village nursery.

Josh has just turned six. He is, in Melanie’s words, “every mum’s dream of a little boy” in that he is sensitive and kind, sharp and perceptive – as well as protective of his little sister.

Josh and Jaid enjoy a real mutual respect. They are also very close to their parents, and the four of them are a really happy family unit. Everyday activities such as washing the car, baking a cake, growing vegetables in the shed and bedtime stories are always fun in the Warner-Taylor household.

In Monday’s show, it is Jaid’s fourth birthday party. She celebrates by having a princesses-and-piratesthemed party.

Jaid is having a teddy bears’ tea party in her garden on Tuesday, but one of the saucers is missing. Who could have taken it? Later, Jaid and Josh help Mummy to prepare some home-grown radishes.

On Wednesday, the Warner-Taylors hire a boat for a day out on the Norfolk Broads. After some initial rain, the sun comes out and Jaid and Josh have fun feeding the ducks – as well as steering the boat!

Josh and Jaid enjoy a barbecue at their grandparents’ house on Thursday. Josh is driving his electric car when the battery runs out. Meanwhile, Jaid’s toy dog is feeling poorly.

In the last show of the week on Friday, Jaid and her Mummy take a trip to the local library to find some new books. Back at home, Jaid plants some sunflower seeds in her garden.
