Family! Together For Puja

Weekdays at 9.05am

The fascinating documentary series continues, focusing this week on the lives of the Pathaks, a Hindu family from Stockport in Cheshire. The episodes centre on the everyday adventures of four-year-old Aastha and her three-year-old sister Anusha.

In Monday’s show, Aastha and Anusha draw pictures to put up on the wall. Later, the family gathers together for puja, or prayers, at their home temple in the girls’ bedroom.

Tuesday’s instalment sees the girls getting very excited about a trip to a sari shop in Manchester to buy traditional Indian outfits. Back at home, the children play in the garden with their friends.

On Wednesday, the girls play on the drive with Dad and their friend Scarlet, while Mum makes chapatis in the kitchen. Next, Mum takes Aastha and Anusha to a hair appointment in Manchester.

Mum takes Anusha to the Hindu temple in Manchester for prayers on Thursday. The girls then play ‘kitchens’ in the garden and Mum joins them for a cup of tea and a bite to eat.

In the last show of the week on Friday, Mum helps the children choose what to wear for the day. Later, she takes the girls and their friend Scarlet to play on the swings.
