Charlie Brooker's You Have Been Watching is recommissioned by Channel 4

Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Charlie Brooker‘s comedy quiz You Have Been Watching.

In fairness, the rest of this article is filler and opinion, so if you walk away now, I wouldn’t blame you one bit. That said, if you walk away now, you’ll miss something about him posing nude.

It’s hardly surprising that Channel 4 decided to have some more as Brooker’s star is rising sharply at the minute… a bit like a space shuttle before it explodes above our heads. If you didn’t know, Brooker won Best Male Newcomer at the British Comedy Awards and got the dubious honour of being placed above Delia Smith and Michael Palin on a leaked BBC league table of talent.

Still, you can’t imagine any of this made him particularly happy, can you?

The Channel 4 entertainment and comedy commissioning editor, Darren Smith, said: “Charlie’s uniquely comic voice is a perfect fit on Channel 4. I’m looking forward to him becoming a big part of our comedy entertainment output in 2010.”

So is this it? Is this when Charlie Brooker really faces the wrath of his devotees? He looks like he’s going to become properly, properly famous in 2010.

Will he end up doing talking head segments on a 6 hours long I HEART LEAP YEARS show on E4? Will he make a Christmas comedy single? Will he pose nude in a glossy magazine?

Probably not. You Have Been Watching will air next year.
