Coronation Street News

Coming up this week in Corrie, Carla’s forced to admit that she did indeed know that Tony had arranged to have Liam killed. And it’s going to go down like a lead balloon, not unreasonably.

Alison King, who plays Carla, is quoted on the ITV website as saying, “Michelle goes crazy when she finds out Carla knew the truth before she left for LA.

“All hell breaks loose – and they end up fighting outside the factory!”

Eeek! In other cast news, Shobna Gulati returns to the show as Dev’s ex-wife, Sunita, but things are going to get uncomfortable when Dev finds out that Sunita’s engaged to his business associate, Matt.

He had no idea that his friend was dating – much less engaged to – Sunita, and speaking about Dev’s reaction to the news, she said, “I think he’s a little bit envious that she’s got to a stage in her life when she doesn’t need him as much and I think that’s what irks him the most.”

We’ll get to see those scenes play out over the coming weeks.

Other Street news includes the fact that a 360-degree image of country’s most famous street is now available, thanks to Google Street View. According to the Corrie website, the image “means you can explore the Street as if you were a Corrie character.”

Coronation Street is the first of the UK’s TV soaps to feature on Google Street View.

A Corrie spokesman said, “Thanks to Street View, fans will be able to have a good nose around the set in a way that would have been unimaginable almost 50 years ago when the show first aired.”
