Jason Manford takes the One Show slot

YES!

The BBC have made a decision on who will be the new presenter of The One Show which means this endless drip-feeding of speculative articles can stop!

Yep, Jason Manford will replace Adrian Chiles on the show’s sofa to wriggle his own ass-groove the BBC confirmed today.

Manford, normally a stand-up and TV show panellist, will start presenting the show in July, co-hosting with Bleakley Monday to Thursday (providing she doesn’t bugger off to ITV as rumoured).

Manford said: “I am thrilled to be part of The One Show team. My dad put £10 at 500/1 that I’d get the job so it just made sense.”

Jay Hunt, BBC1 controller, added: “Jason looked instantly at home on the One Show sofa. His intelligence and humour strike just the right tone for the programme and he is an exciting addition to the team.”

To be honest, Manford is a perfect fit for the show as he’s pretty inoffensive and has a humour that will appeal to those who tune in to the show.

Whether he’ll keep the viewing figures up, as raised by Chiles, remains to be seen, but for the most part, this looks like a good move for all.
