Steph Fearon leaves Over The Rainbow

Steph Fearon has been voted off BBC reality show Over The Rainbow.

The 21-year-old became the eighth contestant to be eliminated from Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Wizard of Oz talent quest after placing in the bottom two.

She was joined by Lauren Samuels in receiving the fewest public votes and therefore the pair were forced to face-off with a rendition of Another Suitcase in Another Hall from Evita in order to see who stays.

“I’m glad it’s the last time I have to make this decision,” Lord Webber said during the elimination, “I know you all so well now, it’s like family. I feel dreadful that I have to take a decision on who is best for Dorothy. I’m going to save Lauren.”

After the decision had been made Steph commented: “I had the best time of my life. I’ve made friends for life. I’ve learnt so much. Thanks to everyone backstage – you’re all amazing. I’ve had the time of my life.”

Only three potential Dorothy’s remain in Danielle Hope, Lauren Samuels and Sophie Evans when Over The Rainbow: The Final screens next week on BBC One.
