Jonathan Ross has been locked for hosting duties of the 2010 British Comedy Awards.

The awards ceremony, which was previously airing on ITV before Channel 4 scored it from them, will be broadcast live this year with Ross running the show.

“The British Comedy Awards is, in my opinion, the most exciting, entertaining and challenging award show on British TV.”Ross said.

He added he is “delighted” to be hosting the ceremony.

Shane Allen, head of comedy at Channel 4 said: “The British Comedy Awards is a national institution, and Jonathan Ross is an enormous part of what makes it such a consistently must-watch event. We’re thrilled that he will host our reinvigorated coverage.”
