EastEnders star Lacey Turner takes up her first filming role since announcing she is leaving the show and guest stars in episode one of BBC Three’s award-winning drama, Being Human.
Lacey will feature in the upcoming third series that chronicles the complicated lives of a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost.
Speaking about her first TV role outside of EastEnders, since she joined the cast in 2004, she says: “It was fantastic working on Being Human. I had some great scenes with Aidan Turner, especially when his character Mitchell is facing up to some of the things he has done in the past.
“The cast and crew were really welcoming and I can’t wait to watch how the story comes together on screen when the series airs.”
Seeking to find some sense of normality after the dramatic climax of the second series, our supernatural heroes have moved to Wales to find a new place to live – and to leave their pasts behind.
However, their fresh start is marred by the disappearance of Annie (Lenora Crichlow), who contacts Mitchell (Aidan Turner) in a desperate cry for help. Missing his friend and anxious to help her, Mitchell is mobilised into action.
Mitchell must enter purgatory to try and save Annie, and it is here he meets Lia (Lacey Tuner), who steers him on his journey.
Being Human is currently filming in Wales. It is a Touchpaper Television production for BBC Wales, written by Toby Whithouse (Torchwood, Doctor Who) and produced by Phil Trethowan (Sold).
Executive producers are Rob Pursey for Touchpaper Television (City Of Vice, Single-Handed) and Eleanor Moran for BBC Wales.
It was commissioned by Ben Stephenson, Controller of BBC Drama Commissioning, and Danny Cohen, Controller of BBC Three.
