Ben Shepherd's Laughing

Ben Shepherd

Ben Shepherd has got to be laughing now.  After resigning from GMTV due to the new appointment of Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley, Shepherd is reportedly looking at signing a £495,000 deal to front live football for Sky Sports.

According to reports, Sky will divide this season’s upcoming matches between Shepherd and current presenter Richard Keys.

An insider says, “whatever way you look at it, it’s a huge coup to get Ben Shephard onto the channel, and Sky will want value for money and to promote him wherever possible.  He was one of the most-known faces on ITV broadcasting to millions of people every week. Many viewers may feel that Ben is ideal to take over from Richard when he decides to step down.”

Shepherd is believed to have impressed bosses with his knowledge of football and rugby in particular and as a frequent participator of Soccer Aid, it must be his dream role.

Shepherd’s last GMTV show will air this Friday.
