Vernon Kay has been tipped to replace Bruce Forsyth on Strictly Come Dancing.
Forsyth is widely believed to be leaving the show and Kay is said to be the “dream” candidate which would see a formula of a husband and wife team take on presenting duties.
An insider said, “Tess and Vernon is our dream lineup. It would completely refresh the show. They’re young, good-looking and there’s obvious chemistry. We’re desperate to get Vern. Brucie has been very good to Tess, and Vern looks up to him. He must be ready to go. Vern’s now the obvious option. Bosses want to revamp Strictly so it appeals to younger viewers while not alienating older fans. He fits the bill.”
Kay is currently presenting the American version of Dancing on Ice over in the US.
