Release date for Matt Cardle's album confirmed

Fans of The X Factor now have a date to mark on their calendar: October 24, 2011.

The day marks the official release of winner Matt Cardle’s debut album, coming out approximately a year after he first appeared on the ITV show.

Cardle will follow the tradition of X Factor winners waiting until the next season of the show hits the live stage before releasing their album.

The move will no doubt lead to a live performance of one of his singles on an episode of the new season beginning in the autumn.
