Coronation Street: Leanne Barlow to suffer a miscarriage!

Plus, the Street’s “biggest brawl” ever!

The People reports that in an upcoming storyline, Corrie character Leanne Barlow will lose her unborn baby.

It seems that when Leanne (Jane Danson) discovers she’s pregnant, she’s overjoyed, but after having “a furious row” with husband Peter (Chris Gascoyne), she suffers a miscarriage that leaves her devastated.

People state that Jane was “moved to tears” when she read the script, which will apparently be filmed next week.

She’s said to have told friends, “It’s incredibly sad,” but the show’s bosses haven’t as yet confirmed the storyline will go ahead.

In other news, there’s more turmoil on the Street when the Rovers gets “trashed” when a fight breaks out between Frank Foster and Chris Gray.

It all begins at Jason Grimshaw’s birthday party, and as Chris is still seething over Frank’s attack on Maria, with a few pints inside him, things soon turn ugly…

The Sun states that the fight escalates so much, half the Street’s men end up involved, including Tyrone Dobbs, Tommy Duckworth and Owen Armstrong.

Becky McDonald will also weigh in to try to stop the fight, but in the process of it all going on, chairs will be broken, glasses and windows smashed, and Becky will be thumped by the stripper the lads hired!

All of which further depresses and angers an already struggling Steve when he walks in and sees his pub looking like Beirut.

A show insider told the paper, “The Rovers has been the scene for lots of punch-ups in the past.

“Usually there’s always someone on hand to drag the fighters apart – until now.”

Oh dear, but – yay!

And finally, the good news is that Betty Driver’s very much on the mend and expects to be released from hospital in time for her 91st birthday later this week.

Over the weekend, a friend of Betty’s told The Sun, “Betty’s an old lady so is being kept in for observation. She’s in good spirits.”
