Strangeways premiere popular on ITV1

New ITV1 series Strangeways pulled an impressive 5.5million for its premiere on Monday night, beating a Wootton Basset documentary over on BBC One in the 9pm hour.

First Apprentice fired

Edward Hunter became the first Apprentice hopeful to be fired from the BBC One show last night, after failing as leader of the boys Team Logic.

House renewed for eighth season

House has been renewed by Fox in the US for an eighth season. Actor Hugh Laurie has previously stated that the series could end after its eighth season.

Mad Dogs renewed by Sky1

Sky1 has renewed thriller series Mad Dogs for a second season. The four-part second run will begin shooting in Majorca and Ibiza over the summer and screen in early 2012.

Rooney complaints dismissed

Ofcom have dismissed complaints regarding Wayne Rooney’s offensive outburst during Manchester United’s victory over West Ham United last month. Viewers complained over his use of offensive language but Ofcom found that the words were not clearly audible and the camera cut away when it became clear what was going on.
