The Daily Star today reports that comedian Frankie Boyle has “chickened out” of a confrontation with reality TV star Katie Price over remarks he made regarding her disabled son Harvey.
Here’s the article…
Frankie Boyle refused three times to meet Katie Price over a sick joke he made about her disabled son Harvey, nine, on his Channel 4 show Tramadol Nights.
The comedian, 38, caused outrage when he said Katie only married cage-fighter Alex Reid, 35, to protect her from Harvey’s sexual advances.
The comments prompted Katie, 33, to film a documentary about her eldest son, called Standing Up For Harvey.
Katie stormed: “When Frankie Boyle told a disgusting joke about my son I decided that the only way to confront that kind of prejudice was to do a programme showing what bringing up a disabled child is really like.
“We invited him on the show but we got a point-blank no. He’s not interested in apologising. It sums him up.”
Channel 4 bosses were eventually forced to apologise for screening the joke after more than 500 viewers complained to TV watchdog Ofcom.
But Katie added: “I don’t know why he won’t meet me or apologise, even out of respect for Harvey.’’
Standing Up For Harvey is on Sky Living tonight at 9pm.
