Love Your Garden – with Alan Titchmarsh follows the writer, broadcaster and TV personality as he travels the country with a team of esteemed experts to find some of Britain’s most beautiful domestic gardens and show viewers how to recreate the look themselves – with minimum fuss.
Rather than sprawling country estates or celebrated public gardens, Alan will focus on the gardens of Britons who have turned their plots into magical outdoor living spaces. And even if you’re not a gardener and have a tiny space, Alan will demonstrate how to make it magical too.
Programme two sees Alan visit a Bracknell garden owned by Louise and Kier Lusby which they started 16 years ago. Even though it is in Bracknell and near a modern housing estate it looks like it could be in the middle of the country with a timeless rustic quality.
Alan reveals how to create the perfect country look in your garden. From growing elegant climbing clematis to building mosaic pathways and planting natural country style beds rich in colour and texture.
Meanwhile Valentine Warner shows how to create a perfect salad straight from a country garden fruit and vegetable patch featuring small gooseberries and lovage. Charlotte Uhlenbrouk meets a favourite creature from the country garden, the hedgehog which is now finding its way into our suburban gardens.
And Alan adds badly needed privacy to the Lusby’s garden, driving a post into the ground to build a rustic fence.
Plus all you need to create your own dream country garden, from elegant iron work benches to york stone paving.
