BBC downplays Spooks/Downton Abbey clash

The BBC are downplaying the clash between Spooks on BBC One and Downton Abbey on ITV1 in the coming weeks. Both series will be screened at 9pm on Sunday nights. “It is not unusual for drama to go up against drama here, for example, David Tennant’s Single Father did last year and ITV1′s Vera was up against BBC One’s Exile earlier this year,” a BBC spokesperson said.

Gossip Girl execs are said to be pulling out all the stops for the forthcoming 100th episode of the drama series. “We know that we are very lucky to be coming by [the 100th episode] and we’re going to respect that,” Executive producer Josh Safran said. “So we definitely want to make it feel like it is a special event.”
