The A-Z Of Crime

Thursday, 22 September 2011, 9:00PM – 10:00PM

Crime Thriller fiction is officially the world’s most popular genre on TV, film, stage and books. Leading up the Specsavers Crime Thriller Awards (broadcast on 11th October on ITV3) over this 6 part series, we will be going behind the scenes of the most popular shows on TV, finding out what makes our detectives tick, what makes the villains so villainous, and celebrating some of the most exciting and memorable moments in crime thriller entertainment. We will also be delving into the minds of the shows’ creators, and unravelling the secret of a good plot and a satisfying ending. Whether you love Morse or Marple, Frost or Foyle, the good folk of Midsummer or the Glaswegian grit of Taggart, this series takes you from A to Z in the world of the Crime Thriller.

Episode: M,N,O,P

So what would go into your A-Z of crime? In this show, M brings us detectives who are married to the job, and who was more married to the job than Inspector Morse? M also takes us away from TV and books into theatre land to talk about the longest running play of all time, The Mousetrap. N gives us the Nick of Time. O stands for Off Duty. P gives us pathologists, Poirot and psychopaths.
