Tom Selleck, who played one of Monica’s boyfriends, Dr Richard, in Friends has said that he would love to reprise his role in a Friends movie.
Selleck made a number of cameos during the show’s ten year run and also earned himself an Emmy nomination for his final episode as Dr Richard in the season 6 finale, The One With the Proposal.
He said he would “absolutely” return and he would, “say yes without even seeing a script. What would be really good is for Richard to come between Monica and Chandler again. I’d hope there’d still be sparks. I loved that scene as the eye doctor looking into her eyes. Courteney Cox has very pretty eyes.”
When he was asked if he kept in contact with any of the cast he said, “I still get a hug from Jen [Aniston], Courteney and Lisa [Kudrow] every time I see them. I still see David [Schwimmer], Matt [LeBlanc] and Matthew [Perry] too. I know Matthew’s father John Bennett Perry very well. We used to be in competition as young actors and he’d always get the parts I wanted.”
E4 has recently finished showing its re-run of Friends so let’s hope a movie is on the cards.
