Adrian Edmondson travels around Britain meeting traditional food producers and people continuing ancient customs. 

Monday 28 November Leicestershire 

Today Ade Edmondson’s quest to find British traditions and foods takes him to Leicestershire where he meets a man who makes traditional Melton Mowbray pork pies, samples life in a monastery, makes the world-famous Stilton cheese and cooks up Bosworth Jumbles for a group of handbell ringers. 

Tuesday 29 November South Yorkshire 

Today Ade Edmondson’s quest to find British traditions and food takes him to South Yorkshire where he meets a local cattle farmer and a champion Yorkshire pudding maker for an enviable roast dinner, visits the Todmorden Agricultural Show, learns the difference between forced and outdoor grown rhubarb, meets a liquorice grower and then uses the rhubarb to bake an old fashioned rhubarb pie for the Grenoside Long Sword Dancers. 

Wednesday 30 November Somerset 

Today Ade Edmondson’s quest for British Traditions and foods takes him to Somerset where he gets stuck into mud fishing the traditional way, learns how to make a willow coffin, spends a few delightful hours tasting cider brandy before cooking up Priddy Oggy for folk duo Mrs Price’s Parlour. 

Thursday 1 December Northumberland 

Today Ade Edmondson’s quest to find British traditions and food takes him to Northumberland where he smokes kippers at Craster, takes to a horse to ride the town boundary at Berwick upon Tweed, meets a couple passionate about potatoes and cooks Pan Haggerty with kippers for folk singing sisters Becky and Rachel Unthank in the grounds of Langley Castle in Hexham. 

Friday 2 December Kent 

Today Ade Edmondson’s quest to find British traditions and foods takes him to Kent. In the garden of England Ade learns how Bitter is made and of course, how it tastes, before heading off to get to grips with oysters at the Whitstable oyster fair. Later he meets a man who’s nuts about cobnuts before cooking up Cherry Batter Pudding for a group of Morris men.
