We’ll start today’s soapy news with Emmerdale, where Jeff Hordley has revealed that he’s surprised women find his character, Cain Dingle, sexy.
Jeff, who is of course currently playing out Cain’s Judgement Day storyline, went on to say that when he learned his character would bed a number of the village’s women, that shocked him too!
When asked about his sex symbol status, Jeff told the PA, “It has most definitely shocked me.
“When he first came in, I think he was written as a villain and a baddie, but as the character has grown, this other side seems to have emerged.
“It has shocked me and my wife massively. I don’t know why!”
Jeff’s wife is of course Zoe Henry, who plays Rhona Goskirk on the show.
Jeff added, “Generally people are all right with Cain. Blokes especially like his laddish aspect,” he revealed.
“I don’t actually go out that much so people know who I am, where I live. It always shocks me when people recognise me.”
And of how he “gets into” the character before filming, Jeff said, “I try and take a few seconds before a take, give myself a few beats just to focus.
“I think about the character’s situation and where he has gone, just a little thought beforehand. I need to understand where he’s coming from.”

Over now to Corrie, where Helen Flanagan has confessed that she’s looking forward to having “total freedom” when she leave the Street and her role as Rosie Webster.
Speaking to OK Extra about leaving the show, Helen, who’s dating footballer Scott Sinclair, said, “I can’t wait – it’s going to be amazing.
“It will be so nice to just be a proper couple and do things together without having limited time.
“It’s been tough. Sometimes I was working from 6am, finishing at 9pm and then driving down to Swansea to see him.
“I felt like I was two different types of Helen – relaxed and chilled when I was with Scott, and then crazy busy when I was back in Manchester and working.
“I can’t wait to just do normal things together without the stress of travelling.
“I’ve got a few things in the pipeline, but I want to keep that back for myself at the moment.
“Most importantly I’m really looking forward to a new start and having total freedom to be myself.”
However, Helen added that she’s going to miss her co-stars terribly.
She said, “I know it sounds cheesy, but we really are like family.
“I’m incredibly close to Sally Dynevor and Brooke Vincent, my on-screen sister Sophie.
“But it’s not like I won’t see them because we’ll always keep in touch.
“I’m really close to Ryan Thomas as well, who plays Jason Grimshaw. I’ve had some of the best times filming with him.”

And finally, it’s over to Hollyoaks, where it seems newcomer Ally – who’s to be played by former Neighbours star Dan O’Connor – is set to ruffle some romantic feathers when he arrives in the village in the New Year.
When he first arrives, Ally will become a lodger at Jacqui McQueen (Claire Cooper) and Rhys Ashworth’s (Andrew Moss) house, and he’ll soon attract the attention of Amy (Ashley Slanina-Davies), Michaela (Hollie-Jay Bowes) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).
Digital Spy adds, “Michaela’s feisty side later comes to the fore when one of her closest allies seals the deal and bags a kiss with Ally.”
Of his new role, O’Connor said, “I’m really excited about joining Hollyoaks, especially with its recent success.
“I have already started filming in Liverpool and there is a real buzz and energy around the place.
“I’m really looking forward to working with some of the show’s most popular characters and talented actors.”
