Cornwall with Caroline Quentin

Monday, 13 February 2012, 8:00PM – 8:30PM

Caroline Quentin continues the eight-part series which sees her travelling the length and breadth of the beautiful and rugged county of Cornwall.

She hears stories about life in some of the most picturesque towns and villages and meets a collection of colourful characters who play a big part in the region’s communities.

Among them are fisherwoman Lorna Bean, who devotes half of the year to sailing the seas and catching sashimi for some of London’s most popular restaurants, and ex-army officer Debs, who gave up a military career for a more relaxed way of life running a campsite on the picturesque Roseland peninsula

Also featured are the villagers of picture postcard St Issey, who are reigniting the community spirit after the closure of the village post office. As the busy summer season unfolds, viewers will get to know them better and understand what draws so many to Cornwall.

In this week’s episode, the residents of St Issey aim for nothing less than gold as they enter their local In Bloom competition.

Property owners Simon and Sue find out if their barn has what it takes to be signed up by the exclusive Unique Home Stays company, and Caroline drops in to chat with Debs about her village community life.
