Plus Bill Roache’s awesome Corrie birthday cake, and Sean Tully will ensure the Hot Pot lives on

Kym Marsh’s fiancé Jamie Lomas may well have to get used to sleeping on the sofa given that today, The Sun carries pictures of Jamie in a hotel room with 26 year old Katie Moores…
However, Jamie and Katie were accompanied by a group of their friends, who all went to the hotel suite following a night out in a club.
But that may not be much comfort to Kym who will doubtless have read that Moores claims she and Jamie shared a “drunken kiss.”
Moores explained, “My friend spoke to him first because she recognised him from Hollyoaks.
“Me and two friends got in a black cab with Jamie and his friend.
“I was pretty drunk. We went to the Park Plaza and he was in the penthouse.
“We were just drinking and talking about people off the soap. At one point he did say he was single. My friend knew he was with Kym but I didn’t.
“He didn’t really say much about Kym — only that they’d just got back off holiday. He didn’t want to talk about her.”
She added, “The kiss wasn’t anything like a passionate kiss — just a stupid drunken one.
“We were sat next to each other on the bed. It just happened. I don’t remember who started it. It wasn’t very long, probably about 20 seconds.
“After that we were just messing about play fighting.”
Yeah… I hope Jamie has the florist on speed dial.
In other Corrie news, veteran star Bill Roache celebrated his 80th birthday with his co-stars and friends yesterday, and was handed a fabulous cake that featured the famous Corrie chimneys.

Yesterday, TV show This Morning cut live to the Coronation Street set to join Bill – who of course plays Ken Barlow – as Chris Fountain brought on the cake, to much applause.
On hand to help Bill eat the goodies were Alison King, Jennie McAlpine, Antony Cotton, Andrew Lancel, Chris Gascoyne and Natalie Gumede.
And apropos of Antony Cotton, he told This Morning viewers that even though his character Sean Tully ended up ruining the written receipt for Betty’s famous Hot Pot, the legendary dish will in fact continue to be a staple of the Rovers’ menu.

He said, “It appeared to have perished, but that recipe is invincible and will be back.
“The recipe has gone into the hotpot for the moment, but it will be back and hopefully the recipe and Betty’s legendary dish will continue.
“And it will always be Betty’s hotpot, not Sean’s. But Sean is the keeper of the hotpot.”
It’s rather lovely that the show’s bosses are to keep Betty Driver – who of course played Betty Williams – in the show in this way isn’t it?
