Plus Olly Murs hasn’t officially signed up for more Xtra Factor yet

It’s been reported today that when One Direction singer Niall Horan texted Simon Cowell to ask if it was ok to dye his hair black, the reply was, “No! Do not dye your hair!”
An insider told the Sun, “Simon still controls a lot about the band down to the finest detail.
“Niall was desperate to get rid of his blond locks and go black just for an experiment, like loads of normal teens.
“Luckily, he had the sense to ask Simon first because he knows how he works.
“He put in a text to him asking if he could change his hair colour. Simon was straight back on to him with a short reply, ‘No way’.”
However, while Simon may be unapologetically firm in what he tells 1D to do, or not do, he was far more humble at the launch last night of Tom Bower’s biography about him, which is entitled, Sweet Revenge – The Intimate Life of Simon Cowell.
While attending the swanky launch, Simon told the media that he was “sorry” that parts of the book had embarrassed people close to him, given that it details various lurid accounts of his love life, among other startling revelations.
Speaking at the Serpentine Gallery in London, he said, “I wish to publicly apologise to anyone I embarrassed.

“Ten years ago if I had read someone would be writing a book about me saying I made loads of money and shagged loads of girls I would have said, ‘Great!’”
He added, “I spent the week hiding under a pillow and I couldn’t bear to look at The Sun.
“I knew it was bad because friends were sending me sweet messages saying, ‘Are you OK?’”
The book was of course serialized in The Sun last week, which is what he was referring to there; he isn’t a vampire or anything, or allergic to daylight. As far as we know…
Finally today, last year’s Xtra Factor co-host Olly Murs has revealed that although he’s been asked to return to the show again this year, he has yet to “sign on the dotted line.”

He said, “I’ve been told that I’m doing it, but I haven’t signed on the dotted line yet…
“So I’m just waiting on the contract.
“I’d love to go back on The Xtra Factor – it’s a big show and I like it.”
And apropos of what else he’s liking on TV right now, Olly said, “I’ve been watching The Voice and Britain’s Got Talent, I’ve been watching them all.
“I’ve been a big fan of reality TV. I think the banter’s great, the chemistry is good between the judges and the talent seems to be really good as well.
“It seems to be a big success this year, it just depends on how well the artists do when they finish.”
He added, “The Voice has been a big success and as long as we continue getting good talent, it’s fine.”
Best not let Simon hear you say that ‘til you have your contract signed in triplicate Olly…
