Britain’s Got Talent 2012 live shows in jeopardy amid illness and meltdowns!

Plus, Simon Cowell wants a Pudsey puppy, and The Mend singer Jay determined to succeed for his late mum

It is of course a big week for BGT given that we’re seeing live shows every night in the run up to the grand finale at the weekend.

However, it seems that chaos reigns backstage right now, with production staff trying to keep up with Simon Cowell’s demands for eleventh hour changes, some of the acts falling ill, and yet more having “meltdowns” ahead of their performances.

One of the biggest hiccups yesterday was that opera singer and BGT favourite Jonathan Antoine was sent home after he became unwell.

Also, violinist Analiza Ching apparently burst into floods of tears, saying she wasn’t ready to perform live, and Rachel Knowland likewise cried when she realized viewers had only seen a couple of minutes worth of footage of her singing, and therefore didn’t have a clue who she was.

An insider at BGT told TV Biz, “It was chaos at the studios yesterday.

“All the acts were desperately trying to rehearse with every spare bit of space being used, but the pressure just got too much for a few of the contestants.

“There were a lot of tears. Analiza had a massive meltdown after her rehearsal and broke down saying she didn’t feel she was good enough and wasn’t properly prepared to face the judges.

“Rachel was also in tears after seeing that she barely appeared in Saturday night’s show.

“Producers are also really worried about Jonathan after he was ordered home to rest before his performance tonight.

“He is still unwell with a nasty cold and has also had a reaction to the antibiotics he was taking, so he is also being sick.”

And last night, Jonathan said, “I have got a cold and I am resting up. I am steaming my vocal chords and I am on tablets.

“I am hoping it doesn’t have an impact on my voice but I am quite nervous.”

However, amid the trauma, one act and her dog were doing just fine, and absolutely wowed the audience and the BGT judges again last night…

I’m of course referring to Ashleigh and her dog Pudsey, and Simon Cowell has fallen in love with Pudsey, so much so that he ordered the doggy have his own trailer and asked owner Ashleigh if he could have one of the pooches puppies if she ever breeds from him.

An insider said, “Pudsey is undoubtedly one of the big stars of this year’s show and he is being treated as such.

“He has his own trailer so he can relax — and he needs it with all the madness around him.”

And as fans saw last night, Simon told Ashleigh, “This is what I have been waiting for all my life.

“I’ve had a lot of dogs in my life but never one like this.

“Ashleigh you did a fantastic job as well. I would love a dog like that, I really would. Can we breed him and I can have the puppy?”

Here’s a reminder of Ashleigh and Pudsey’s knockout performance last night…

Aren’t they just fabulous?!

Our final snippet of BGT news today is that The Mend singer Jayme Kontzle has told friends that when he sings, he feels his mother’s presence all around him.

Sadly, Jay’s mum died in an horrific car crash when Jay was just four, and in a dreadful irony, when Jay was just four months old, both he and his mum could’ve been killed in a road accident.

However, in that accident, both mother and baby Jay escaped with injuries, but none which were life threatening.

But when his mum did die a few years later, Jay went to live with his grandparents, but he believes his mum is with him all the time.

A friend of Jay’s told The Sun’ TV Biz, “When he auditioned for the band he blew it the first time but he begged to be allowed to sing again.

“Then he stood up and sang a cappella a pitch-perfect version of Hero by M People.

“It was incredible. One woman was so overcome she had to leave the room…

“Jayme told me months later that when he was telling me about his mum at the audition he suddenly felt like she was there, telling him that he wasn’t in the band and he had to sing again.

“He couldn’t have known that she was right – at that moment he wasn’t in the band, but after singing again he was!

“He said his mum often visits him and he knows she’s there. He doesn’t know if he believes in the after-life. He just knows it is his mum and he can feel her with him.

“He gets the feeling that she’s there every now and again, looking after him like she always did. He will always love his mum.”
