Reality TV News: Big Brother Summer 2012 Eye revealed! I may wee with excitement!

Plus The Voice coach Jessie J to be replaced by Cheryl Cole?! And BGT star Ashleigh promises Simon Cowell can spend time with Pudsey

Whoop with joy BB fans for Channel 5 have just revealed the new BB eye for its forthcoming summer show…

And what’s more, it’s been announced that there are to be two very different houses; one for the regular housemates, and one for the celebrities who’s signed up as housemates.

The regular series begins in June, and just 24 hours after that show ends, we’ll be meeting the celebs who’re going into their posh pad.

Rumoured to be among them are Julie Goodyear, Julian Clary, Cheryl Fergison, and Holly Henderson who had “phone sex” with footballer Mario Balotelli. And the woman Vernon Kay had a similar relationship, Rhian Sugden.

Of the two shows airing so closely together, a Channel 5 insider told the Daily Star, “You’ll get two houses for the price of one.

“The normal housemates will have their own style of house and then we’ll go in and completely renovate it in time for the celebs.

“It will look like a completely different house. We’ll face a race against the clock but it will be well worth it.”

And of the new eye logo, Jeff Ford, director of programmes at Channel 5, said, “The Big Brother Eye logo is one of TV’s most iconic symbols…

“And this fresh new look reflects how the show itself is constantly evolving and reinventing itself.

“It will be front and centre of the new campaign as we ramp up the excitement ahead of the show returning to Channel 5 this summer.”

BB producer Susy Price added “We are delighted with this year’s confident and playful iconic Big Brother eye.”

Here’s a quick look at the eye as it aired during Home and Away last night…

In other news, it’s been reported by the Daily Mirror today that The Voice coach Jessie J may be replaced on the show, and bosses are said to be “desperate” to sign up Cheryl Cole in her place.

It’s also been reported that in a bid to boost viewing figures, BBC bosses have booked Kylie Minogue to perform live.

But as to Jessie, it seems the show’s producers are annoyed that she’s publicly stated that she doesn’t watch the show, and she branded parts of it “lame” during an appearance on Graham Norton’s chat show.

A show insider said, “Many of the show’s most senior staff are angry that Jessie criticised the show’s production values so publicly.

“She is paid a huge amount of money to be a big part of the show, and should be one of the show’s most vocal supporters.

“It has had a huge impact on what many of the show’s staff think about her.

“Obviously the dip in viewers means producers need to speak frankly with all members of the team, but with Jessie there’s not really any point. You can’t tell her anything.”

Another BBC insider said, “We’ve just signed Kylie this week and Cheryl is going to perform her new single in a massive exclusive for the show.

“We are also contacting a number of other huge stars, such as singer Adele, to add more quality to the show.

“ITV have already shown it’s dog-eat-dog by moving Britain’s Got Talent around the schedules aggressively, so we have got to hit back as hard as we possibly can.”

Yet another source said of Jessie and Will, “To be honest, nobody really has much control over Jessie J or Will.i.am.

“They’re a law unto themselves. With Jessie in particular, the staff are becoming frustrated that she is so unapproachable.

“She turns up with a legion of minders, assistants and hangers on and is sometimes late too.

“It’s like an audience with the Queen – although Her Majesty’s timekeeping is probably better.”

Do you like Jessie on the show or would you rather she was replaced?

Finally today, BGT star Ashleigh has revealed that as Simon Cowell is so smitten with her amazing dog Pudsey, she’ll allow him to have visits with the pooch.

Speaking to the Sun after Simon told her, “I’d love a dog like that” Ashleigh said, “I’m going to have to keep a close eye on Pudsey. Simon can’t have him.

“Pudsey is priceless. I wouldn’t mind him going round to Simon’s house on visits — that’s fine but nothing else.

“I’d help Simon find his own dancing dog. We could go puppy shopping and I could help train him.”

Ashleigh also revealed that if she wins the show, she’d spend the money on starting up her own business training dogs for film and TV, as well as a few treats for her doggy.

She said, “I’d spend the money on a bling collar and a new bed for Pudsey.

“I did watch The Artist and the dog Uggie is really good. Pudsey would be brilliant at something like that.”
