Plus Simon Cowell pulls out all the stops for Rita Ora
We’ll start today’s X Factor news round up with the report in The Sun which claims that One Direction star Louis Tomlinson was horrified to discover a naked man was trying to break into his hotel room in New York!
The drama began when Louis heard noises outside his room, and when he went to investigate, it turned out that the naked man – who was extremely drunk apparently – was actually looking for the loo.
A friend of Louis’s told the paper, “Louis heard the noise because he wasn’t sleeping well with jet-lag and at first he thought it would be another fan who had sneaked past minders.
“When he saw it was a small naked man he called security, who sorted it out.
“This bloke wasn’t even a hotel guest, but a drunk who was looking for a toilet.”
Meanwhile, Harry Styles has revealed that he’d love to shave al his hair off, but has been banned from doing so by the band’s management.
While speaking to Radio 1 DJ Nick Grimshaw, Harry said, “I want to shave my hair off, and no one will really let me…
“Everyone’s telling me not to do it. And my argument is, like, I think my popularity is in my face, and not my hair.”
He added, “I was reading a magazine today, and I saw this big article in the back, and it was talking about men wearing tights…
“Because basically it just feels really comfortable, so I’ve been putting them on under my jeans.
“So I’m just wondering if you could get me some good ones. Like, some crotchless ones.
“Just because I’ve been stealing my sister’s. The thing is, I’m not sure if I’m ready to bring them out.
“Maybe I should just keep them under my trousers for a bit. Do you think they do, like, gold ones?”
Christ I hope not…
Moving swiftly on, Simon Cowell has been doing whatever it takes to make sure guest judge Rita Ora has been able to appear at the show’s auditions, including flying her from London to the West Midlands so that she could fit in her other engagements.
A show insider told the Daily Mirror, “Simon and the show’s producers were really impressed by Rita.
“She was warm and funny, and gave everybody constructive criticism.
“She did get laughed at for asking identical twins if they were the same age but the audience responded really well to her.
“When they asked her to stay another day, they knew it would mean she had to make a quick jaunt to the Coldplay gig.
“She had been planning to get a helicopter but X Factor chartered her the jet as a thank-you.”
And while tweeting about her dash from London to Coventry, Rita said, “All in red. coventry I’m coming to you now! Just leavin xfactor so we’re rushing!”
She also tweeted that she rather fancies Gary Barlow. She remarked, “He’s actually hotter than I thought. I think Gary’s a really good looking lad.”
In other news, among the wannabes that have failed to impress at the London auditions so far are Bianca Gascoigne – daughter of Gazza – and former Popstars: The Rivals contestant Nicola Ward.
Both were given a resounding ‘No’ by the judges, but homeless hopeful Robbie, who’s aged 26.
He performed Paolo Nutini’s Last Request which wowed the judges and the audience.
A source at the auditions said, “This guy turned up and he did look a bit scruffier than your average X Factor wannabe.
“He was wearing a battered old hat and looked pretty sorry for himself.
“His story really touched the judges as it was obvious how much it meant to him to be there on the stage.
“He did a great version of Last Request. It was a very special moment.
“Gary said he hoped this performance would change his life.”
