And Kym Marsh reveals that Michelle and Steve will reignite their romance… kind of!

We’ll begin today’s Coronation Street news round up with the shocking revelation that former gigolo Lewis Archer will die later this year in a road accident.

Which of course is über bad news for crimper Audrey who’s only just got everyone to accept that Lewis – who’s played by Nigel Havers – isn’t out to rip her off this time around.

A show insider broke the news about Lewis’s forthcoming sticky end to People, saying, “[The producers] thought it would be tricky to keep his storyline going,” so the decision was made that Lewis would snark it.

However, the reality is that Nigel has been offered a lucrative deal to star in a panto later this year, but he would’ve needed time off from Corrie to do it, and it seems the show’s bosses weren’t over keen on that idea.

So Nigel had a choice to make, and it seems he voted with his wallet. Can’t say I blame him but I do feel sorry for poor old Audrey, who’s turning into something of a Carla Connor-esque black widow, given that her husbands have a nasty habit of dying on her…

However, as the title of this article mentions, as is the way with the circle of life – *hears Elton in head – it’s one out one in as Gary Windass and Izzy Armstrong are about to find out they’re to be parents.

But it’s not going to be plain sailing for the couple because when Izzy breaks the news to Gary, he bottles it and says he’s not ready to be a dad.

Well Gazzer, y’should’ve thought of that before and double bagged! Stoopid boy.

However, when Izzy falls ill, Gary has a clear cut decision to make either to support her through it, and stay with her to raise the baby together, or cut all ties once and for all.

Which will he choose? We’ll let you know when we do!

Finally today, Kym Marsh has revealed to All About Soap magazine that her character Michelle Connor is once again to dip her toe into the somewhat murky waters of the former romance she shared with Steve McDonald.

He of course ditched Michelle for Becky, but now, Steve’s once again single, and Michelle is about to need a shoulder to cry on when it turns out that her son Ryan is heavily involved in drugs.

Ryan is set to be played by newcomer Sol Heras, and in the storyline, he’s been away at uni, and returns to the cobbles with some undesirable habits, such as selling drugs to other Street residents, namely Sophie Webster who’s going to end up addicted to crack, or the cocaine variety, thanks to Ryan.

But getting back to what Kym had to say about Steve and Michelle becoming close again, she explained first the viewers presumed Michelle would have a romance with another newbie, Rob Donovan – who’s to be played by Marc Baylis – who will be introduced as Carla’s brother.

Of that, Kym said, “I think the viewers are expecting Michelle to get it on with Rob because he’s the new guy, and the last person they’re expecting her to pair up with is Steve.”

She added, “Steve has always been very much part of Ryan’s life from when he was with Michelle before, and we’ll see him being a massive support for her.”

However, Kym remarked, “I don’t want to see Michelle getting serious with a guy.

“I like her relationships as long as they keep them quite light and fresh.

“Michelle’s a drifter, but I love that about her.”

Would you like to see Michelle and Steve back together properly?
