Sony's Google TV service to lunch in the UK

Sony and Google have announced plans to launch the Google TV platform outside the US for the first time.

The internet TV device will be available in the UK for a cost of around £200 when it launches in July.

The UK is among a host of international territories who will receive Google TV, with others including Canada, Australia, France, Germany and Brazil.

“Entertainment content is available through so many channels and sites, and Google TV helps consumers easily find what they want to watch, listen to or play with the freedom of the internet and using the familiar Chrome search engine technology,” said Gildas Pelliet,

Sony’s European head of marketing.
