Plus Party Political debate between Scott and Luke S!

This morning, Day 51, began early for the housemates as Big Ben chimed into the house, causing the sleeping housemates to scramble out of bed to gather round the classic timepiece to wish each other happy New Year.

Of course, we won’t know if they have incurred any Big Ben fails until the task is over, but there was another challenge awaiting this afternoon.

But first, as it’s been a hot day again in Borehamwood, the HMs gathered around the pool and hot tub to chill out, but thanks to Caroline and her horrible donkey laugh, tensions began to mount.

It began when Sara was talking about Egypt, where she reckons there are branches of McDonalds. Now, for some reason, Caroline found this hilarious, often, and it infuriated Sara.

To a disinterested and barely listening Scott, Caroline said, “Imagine if there was like a takeaway shop on a pyramid…”

He ignored her, refusing to join in the guffawing as Sara angrily said, “I don’t take the p**s out of you, so please don’t take the p**s out of me. It’s not nice.”

Caroline replied, “No I… it’s the idea, the idea…”

But Sara continued, “It makes me feel really small and stupid.”

And still finding it highly amusing, Caroline said, “No but imagine if there was a fast food shop on the pyramids…”

Sara, who was by now ready to explode, said, “I didn’t say there was a McDonalds ON a pyramid!

“It really upsets me when somebody tries to belittle me like that. It makes me feel this size, so please don’t do it to me again.

“I’ve told you about a hundred times in here; I don’t appreciate it.”

As Sara walked away, Caroline said, “OK…” and muttered a few ‘Sorry’ words, but about thirty seconds later, bursting into hysterics again, Caroline said, “Imagine if there was like a takeaway shop on the pyramids…”

Now livid, Sara stormed back over and said, “I don’t take the p**s out of anybody. I just don’t understand why you feel the need to belittle people. It’s not nice.

“It makes me feel really upset Caroline. I was telling a story and you’re just taking the p**s out of me!

“You’re supposed to be my friend so why are you doing that?”

Caroline replied, “I’m not” and began a rambling ‘joke’ about someone ordering pizza then having to drive to the pyramids for it.

Sara ranted, “Yeah Caroline, you’ve done this so many times and it’s not nice at all.

“It makes me feel horrible, it makes me feel so small, it makes me really, really upset.”

For a wonder, Caroline stopped laughing and just stared at the floor, giving Sara time to retreat into the house, but I’m sure it won’t be long before Caroline’s upsetting someone else.

As to this afternoon’s Party Animals challenge, it involved Scott and Luke S and a public debate, which frankly, sounds deathly dull, but we’ll no doubt find out in tomorrow night’s highlights show.

Here’s what the boys had to do…

Scott and Luke S have been selected by Big Brother to form a political parties and go head-to-head in debate. They have one hour to prepare before they present a two minute argument in front of the rest of their housemates.

Their housemate audience will then vote privately via a ballot box for the argument that has convinced them.

At the end of the task, the two political party leaders will be called to the Diary Room to predict which of them has won the debate – if they get it right, they will pass this challenge for the team.

As we leave the housemates, the task is over but we don’t as yet know if they passed, but I will of course be back in the morning with a round up of all this afternoon’s house action.

G’night y’all!
