Last night, Arron Lowe became the latest evictee from the Big Brother house, and for me, his eviction means an end to the majority of the drama that’s making this year’s series such addictive watching…
So I’m definitely in the ‘sad’ camp.
And I’m worried that with some of the show’s biggest characters gone, and seemingly continuing to do so week on week, we’re going to end up with the dullest show in the world…
Do we really want to watch Becky and Deana sulking and/or crying – and when they’re not doing that, sitting around twiddling their hair – for the remaining weeks?
To be honest, my worst case scenario is that Becky, Deana, Scott and Caroline end up being the final four. But I guess as bad would be Ashleigh, Luke A, Lauren and Sara…
It’s not that they’re unpleasant or dislikable people, but they just… vanilla. There’s nothing very exciting about any of them, and in terms of Scott, the only interesting thing he’s done since he got there was to row with Arron, and now Arron’s gone, that’s the end of that.
It’s quite weird this year because I don’t have any strong feelings about who I want to win it; well, at least I don’t now that Arron’s gone. For me, though he was often irritating, he has been by far the best housemate in terms of drama and entertainment, and I fear it’s all going to be rather dull now.
I’m also finding it über hard to understand how come Deana and Becky made top two in the Vote to Save, and I can only
attribute it to the tidal wave of Conor hatred which has seen thousands of online posts about voting to save everyone else in order to get him out.
Well clearly, that didn’t work, and in my opinion, all that stuff over Conor and his rant about Deana was blown entirely out of proportion. There were hundreds of people who took it OTT and even accused him of what amounted to a threat to rape. Ridiculous.
But to anyone who’s about to hit the comment box and tell me that it WAS a threat in terms of sexual assault, please only do so if you can swear, hand on heart, you’ve never said anything like, “I wish I could tell him/her to stick their job up their arse…”
Because that’s no worse than anything Conor said. It involves a person’s nether regions and a foreign object. However, if you’ve never said or thought anything similar, fire away.
And do please let me know how you feel about Arron’s departure. And of course, I’ll be back later with a full round up of house news.
