Andy Murray’s four-set defeat at the hands of Roger Federer at Wimbledon yesterday netted a mammoth audience for BBC One.
An average of 11.4m tuned into the entire coverage of the men’s final between 1pm and 6.45pm with a peak of 16.4m during the final points and post-match interview.
Over on BBC Two, the British Formula One Grand Prix was seen by an average of 4.18m at 1.30pm.
