Plus, Shirley finds out Ben’s a killer! See spoiler clip and the official trailer for Shane Richie’s new film, The Reverend!
As fans of EastEnders will doubtless know, Sharon is headed back to Walford after she calls in her old mucker Phil Mitchell to help her out of something of a tight spot…
Said tight spot being that on what should have been her wedding day, her fiancé has not only legged it, leaving her at the altar, but he’s also kidnapped her little boy!
Sharon’s son is of course the child she conceived with her non-blood related half brother Dennis Rickman, who was murdered by a hitman hired by gangster Johnny Allen.
He died not even knowing Sharon was pregnant. Awww.
However, the BBC have revealed that Sharon returns to the show during the week of August 13 which is also when Phil’s world begins to fall around his ears as his girlfriend Shirley uncovers the truth about who murdered poor Heather…
Lorraine Newman, the executive producer of the show, said, “An exciting week packed full of dramatic twists and turns lies ahead for the audience…
“And the justice they have been desperately waiting for has finally arrived.”
Also in upcoming episodes, we’re going to see Janine Moon leaving Walford – for six months anyway while Charlie Brooks, who of course plays her, takes extended leave – and her husband Michael, but the big question is, will she abandon baby Scarlett or take her with her?
The Sun reports that Janine — who of course inherited a fortune from her late gran Lydia — will be seen leaving Walford after testing Michael’s commitment to her with “a suitcase stuffed with £450,000 in cash.”
A show insider told TV Biz, “The storyline is action-packed. Janine and Michael have always had huge trust issues, and their wedding and the birth of their daughter last month has done nothing to change that.
“Things come to a head when she accuses him of seeing another woman, which he denies.
“She then demands to know why he forced her to rip up their pre-nuptial agreement before their wedding and then she gives him a big test.
“She tells him the case has £450,000 in it and says he has to choose between her and the money.
“She leaves the cash in the kitchen and says if it is still there in the morning she will know he loves her.
“He is seen clutching the money, leaving viewers guessing as to what he will do next.
“The next day the money is still there — but in a massive twist it is Janine who ends up deciding she can’t stay because she feels she is not fit to be a wife or a mother.
“She decides to leave Albert Square and Michael — but the big question is whether she will take baby Scarlett with her.”
What do you think? Is Janine such an awful mother that she’s abandon her baby?
While you’re thinking on that, here’s a sneak peek look at the episode that airs on Monday – July 30 – when Zainab has a lot to say to Masood…
Finally today, the first pictures of Shane Richie – who of course plays Alfie Moon – starring in a new horror flick The Reverend, have been released…
We have the film’s official trailer for you, but first, here’s its synopsis…
The Neil Jones-directed The Reverend has found a home overseas. A horror flick starring Rutger Hauer and Tamer Hassan will be distributed throughout the UK by Metrodome. It is still awaiting a U.S. distributor. Hauer and Hassan’s co-stars include Stuart Brennan, Doug Bradley and Emily Booth.
Fresh from seminary school a new Reverend embarks on his first parish. A small, low maintenance Chapel based in the quiet idyllic setting of a quiet country village.
While on the surface the village seems to be a peaceful parish, with perfect residents, soon it becomes apparent that something more sinister lurks beneath the fade of a local businessman.
On a wet, cold night a mysterious girl visits The Reverend at the chapel. Cold and upset she is welcomed in warmly, soon it becomes apparent that her visit is not for sanctuary but to deliver a message, a message in the form of a deep, bloody bite…
Awoken with an unknown, uncontrollable thirst a confused Reverend can find no evidence of the girl from the night before, with nothing but the thirst and memory of the bite, The Reverend embarks on his mandate, to clean up the village and the neighboring estate, by preaching or feasting.
Release Date: 3 August 2012 (UK)
