Plus, Debbie Dingle’s moving staircase mystery and are Lisa and Zak over?!
In forthcoming episodes of Emmerdale, the love triangle that saw Laurel Thomas falling in love with pub chef Marlon Dingle while married to Vicar Ashley takes a surprising turn next week…
As fans of the show will know, Laurel broke Marlon’s heart by choosing to stay with Ashley last year and vowing to make a go of their marriage.
But of course, since then, Ashley has fallen from grace after it was revealed he’d physically abused his dad Sandy, and now, Laurel wants a divorce and the shamed cleric is living rough.
And as we saw in last night’s trip to Yorkshire, he gone missing with no money, no phone and nowhere to live, but in the twist mentioned above, Marlon is set to find Ashley and rescue him from the hands of the thugs who stole his mobile phone recently…
He finds the former Vicar on his knees at the mercy of the cruel pair, and immediately takes charge, scaring off the thugs and telling Ashley that he won’t hear any argument; he’s coming back to the village and will stay with Marlon and Lizzy in his house.
However, rumour has it that in forthcoming episodes, Marlon and Laurel will discover that they’re both still very much in love with each other, and Marlon will face a terrible decision; stay in the village and be with Laurel – which would mean betraying Ashley yet again – or take Rhona and Paddy up on their offer of moving to New Zealand with them so he can stay close to his son Leo.
I’ll let you know which way that’s going to go as soon as I find out.
Also in Emmerdale news is the mystery of Debbie Dingle’s staircase, which, as we saw in last night’s visit to her house, had moved!
Here are the before and after shots…
Sharp eyed fans took to Twitter to find out what gives, and Gemma Oaten, who plays Rachel, replied to the many enquiries she received, saying, “I’ve tried to find out for you… and yes, the stairs have been moved in Debbie’s house #emmerdale due to tweaks being needed as filming in that little studio was a nightmare for cameras etc.
”A lot of sets have needed tweaking since the move to new studio. Hope that helps! So there we have it #debbiesstairgate is hopefully resolved.
“Hurrah! If I’m wrong I apologise, but I tried for you.”
But she was in fact spot on and the show’s bosses wrote on the soap’s Twitter page, “For all our eagle eyed viewers, there has been some changes to the Tug Ghyll set, this is for production reasons.”
I must admit, I didn’t spot it. Did you?
Our final snippet of Emmerdale news today is that Lisa Dingle, who’s finding it increasingly hard to cope, what with the loan sharks hounding her and her husband Zak’s ongoing hospitalization, will tell her BFF Lizzie that she’s no longer in love with Zak.
She makes the revelation after Zak is sent home, but things don’t improve and in fact, he puts Belle in danger when the loan sharks come calling, and she’s forced to defend her family home against them.
Lisa is of course understandably furious that Zak left their daughter in that position, and she angrily tells him he should’ve stayed in the hospital.
Things get worse yet when Charity offers to take everyone for a meal to the pub, and a proud Lisa at first refuses, knowing they can’t afford to contribute, but when Charity insists and says she’ll pay, Zak’s quite happy to go, prompting Lisa to be angry with him, saying he’s only interested in getting something for nothing.
She tells him that they’d all be better off if he just packed his bags and went, but does she really mean it?
We’ll find out towards the end of the month.
