“To have that sort of mental state that one must have to do such an act. You clearly have to be in a place where I never want to go. And the average person would never want to go. And you can’t even imagine what it must be like to be there.” Neil Close, Melanie’s Brother

Every ten days in England and Wales a child dies at the hands of their parent. Such acts are so unspeakable that we rarely explore their causes, or consequences. But how could a mother kill the person she loves most in the world? This documentary tells the story of Melanie Ruddell, who killed her two-year-old son Christy in August 2010.

‘I Took My Baby’s Life’ is a brand new 60-minute documentary made by award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker Henry Singer, best known for the iconic 9/11 film, ‘The Falling Man’.
