Reality TV News: BB plan psychological White Room task twist! Plus girl band success angers X Factor wannabes

And 50 Cent wants to date Tulisa!

It’s been reported today that Big Brother 2012 bosses have a twist in store for this year’s housemates which will apparently copy the “psychologically demanding” task carried out in Big Brother Australia in 2007…

Entitled simply, The White Room, the task will see several housemates put into a secret room where everything is white; from their clothes to bedding. However, there will be a big red button in the room which housemates can press when they can’t stand being in the room any longer.

Here’s what Wiki says about the 2007 White Room twist…

White Room

On 23 April, the four remaining wild-card housemates not selected to enter the House via the public vote on Days 1 and 2 were isolated in the “White Room”. The housemates wereCruz, Demet, Kara, and Harrison.

The White Room and its fixtures and fittings were all entirely white, and the housemates had only white clothes to wear. White Room housemates were provided with a white porridge which fulfilled all nutritional needs…

In the centre of the room was a red button. At any time, a housemate could press the red button if they wished to leave. This decision to leave was final and the quitting housemate could not return to the Big Brother House or the White Room.

The challenge was that the housemate who stayed in the White Room the longest without pressing the red button would become a legitimate Big Brother housemate and enter the main house with the rest of the housemates.

Monitors in the Big Brother House allowed the housemates to watch, without audio, the White Room housemates at all times. The White Room housemates were unaware that they were being watched by the Big Brother housemates.

Cruz was the first white room resident evicted when he pressed the red button after Big Brother offered $750 to whoever pushed the red button first. In the days after Cruz departed no one else volunteered to leave, so Big Brother ran a set of challenges to decide who from the White Room would move to the main house.

First, Kara was evicted when Harrison and Demet nominated her. Then, the Big Brother housemates lodged their votes on who they wanted in the house. Demet won the vote and became an official housemate.

It’s also been revealed that there will be special editions of both Big Brother and Bit on the Side as the housemates reactions to the White Room are examined.

We’ll bring you more details on that as we get them.

In other news, X Factor wannabes at this year’s Boot Camp are said to be livid that girl group From Above have been revealed as already established artists.

The band, who are managed by Beyonce’s dad, Matthew Knowles, have even been the focus of a reality TV show on MTV which charted the band’s creation and their subsequent album release.

One X Factor hopeful told the Sun, “It’s disgusting. The X Factor is supposed to be about discovering raw, new talent.”

What do you think? Is it unfair that an already established group is competing on the show?

Finally today, the Daily Star reports that American rapper 50 Cent has revealed that he wants to date X Factor judge Tulisa.

He said, “I’m going to be over in the UK later on again in the year and I would love to meet Tulisa for dinner.

“She had it tough and she has also been through some s**t recently as well.

“I love how she has handled that by flipping the bird to that guy who sold her out.”

He added, “I been watching and reading about Tulisa since she got the role on The UK X Factor and my girl is no wannabe.

“She is real, she is talented, and the sort of person I want to be creating music.”
