Reality TV News: X Factor relocating Boot Camp due to Olympics & Tulisa’s “gang member symbol” causes outrage

Plus Amanda Holden attributes her career success to Simon Cowell

We’ll start today’s look at all things reality TV with The X Factor, where auditions for the show have been thrown into “chaos” by the forthcoming Olympics.

Ordinarily, the Boot Camp stage of the show is held in London, but as hotel rooms in London during the Olympics as rare as rocking horse poo, there are no venues that can house the 200 some acts who’re through to that stage.

So, for the first time in the show’s history, Boot Camp will most likely be held in Manchester or Birmingham.

Of the move, a show source told the Daily Star, “The Olympics has posed a huge problem for us this year.

“London has always been the choice venue for boot camp. But now we are having to re-think it, and fast.

“The place is completely booked out. It would be a nightmare to stage it during the Games so we’ll have to move…”

In other X Factor news, judge Tulisa has sparked some controversy by posing for a photograph while allegedly making a ‘C’ symbol, which is apparently a sign that’s used by members of notorious north-west London gang Crime Scene Boys.

Also known as the Church Road Soldiers, gang members have been linked to gun violence and drug dealing.

Tulisa made the symbol while filming a video for her new track on the Church End estate in Harlesden, where the gang is based.

An onlooker said, “She was strutting around throwing gang signs and hanging around outside the blocks of flats.

“She was swearing and trying to fit in with the other people who were around her from the estate.

“Making that C sign is what people do when they are a member of the Crime Scene Boys. It’s a real mistake.”

However, in a statement about the controversy, Tulisa said, “I filmed a street video on Sunday night for a track on my album.

“The video was a collaboration with the rapper Nines. When we were filming on the street loads of other people turned up and joined in the shoot.

“When I was holding my hands in the C sign, this was as a tribute to Camden, my home town and where N-Dubz began.

“I am not aware that this sign has anything to with any street gang and I 100 per cent do not endorse any gang violence in any form.”

Finally today, it’s over to BGT where judge Amanda Holden says she has Simon Cowell to thank for her career success.

Speaking to Easy Living magazine, Amanda said, “I’m grateful to him. Obviously he’s made me a lot of money, but he also gave me an amazing profile change.”

She added, “He gave me the job on Britain’s Got Talent after someone dropped out – I think it was Cheryl Cole – and I turned up with no idea what to do.

“He told me to be myself and have fun, and I did. It changed everything for me.”

And finally, while jokingly revealing that she and Simon have never been an item – in response to a question about Simon’s affair with Dannii Minogue – Amanda laughed, “I’m the only one he hasn’t slept with! And it’s staying that way.

“I love Simon. I met him 15 years ago. The first thing I said was, ‘Don’t get any ideas. I’ve booked a car to take me home.’”

Wonder if she booked a separate one for her ego? ;-)
