Plus, Susan Boyle’s neighbours are sick of her singing, and Simon Cowell plans to make Pudsey a canine talent show judge!
It’s been reported today that a promising girl band, Quantro, who made it through to The X Factor’s Boot Camp stage have now been axed after it was revealed one of the group’s members allegedly smashed a broken glass into an ex-boyfriend’s face.
Band member Lucie Slater is set to appear in court to answer a charge of with wounding with intent to cause GBH after her ex-boyfriend, who’s a DJ at the Tiger Tiger bar in Newcastle, William Scott Aitken, needed medical treatment following the incident on June 24.
21-year-old Lucie, of Gateshead, who is currently on bail and is due to appear at crown court, was apparently “devastated” that the show’s bosses have ditched the group.
She even offered to leave the band so that her three band mates could continue on the show, but her plea was refused.
Speaking to the Sun, Lucie said, “We got fantastic comments from the judges and we are just heartbroken.
“We have worked so hard to get to where we are. We can’t thank people enough for their support and that’s why the band is going to carry on.”
After being disqualified, the band tweeted, “We’d like to thank everybody so so much from the bottom of our hearts for the support everyone gave us…
“It meant everything and we will strive to continue what we love. Keep your dreams alive xx.”
An X Factor spokesman said the group could not continue as a three-piece because it was too far into the competition, but added that they could re-audition for the show next year.
Over to BGT news now, and it seems Susan Boyle is driving her neighbours nuts with her constant – and loud apparently – singing.
Two of her neighbours, Teresa Miller and Paul Keaveney, have even complained to the local council about the noise nuisance, which they claim often goes on into the small hourse.
Speaking at her home in Blackburn, Teresa said, “It is so loud you can’t hear the telly. It’s unbearable.
“It’ll be on first thing in the morning or late at night and it’s absolutely blaring. She’ll put one song on repeat and it goes on for hours.
“I don’t know if she’s got a karaoke machine or what but it’s so loud.
“You wouldn’t get Bono from U2 standing in his house singing his songs at the top of his voice.
“Maybe she’s practising for her next track or the next time she’s going to see Simon Cowell but it’s unbelievable.”
However, an unnamed source claimed that Teresa and Paul were seeking revenge on Susan by filing the complaint, because she’s complained about them rowing!
The source said, “These neighbours have been having almighty rows.
“Susan has been forced to call the police several times as she has been concerned that they might hurt each other. She was scared.
“Their landlord has also been approached by another of Susan’s friends because of their late-night parties and the level of noise from their music.
“This is a malicious complaint against Susan — nothing but tit for tat.”
Last night a spokeswoman for Susan said, “There has been no communication from the council so we are unaware if there even has been a complaint.”
Finally, but staying with BGT, talented pooch Pudsey, who’s become Simon Cowell’s new BFF, is set to have a seat on the judges’ panel of a new ITV2 canine talent quest show, Top Dog Model, along with his owner, Ashleigh Butler.
Of the show, which will see the winner land a doggie modelling contract, an ITV spokesman said, “We want to include pooches of all varieties, shapes and size – along with their owners – in this new exciting series.”
Will you be watching Top Dog Model? I think I will, just to see the cute doggies!
