9:00pm Monday 9 July on BBC THREE
Last August Britain witnessed its worst riots in a generation. BBC Radio 1′s Gemma Cairney investigates the fall-out for those who got caught up in the riots and finds out how they were changed by them.
Hundreds of businesses and properties were destroyed as thousands of people ran amok in our cities, stealing from shops and rioting against the police. Nearly 3000 people were arrested and many were given very tough prison sentences.
With intimate access over nine months, BBC Three’s programme follows three young people who were arrested on those anarchic nights. The programme also meets two of the victims of the riots who have lost homes and businesses and sees first-hand how their lives have been affected by the events.
