And Pudsey has landed a Hollywood movie role!
We’ll begin today’s X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent news with a report in the Sun which states that Simon Cowell was landed with a hotel bill for $500,000 (£320,000) after he gave X Factor USA wannabes “the five-star treatment.”
Apparently, Simon put the delighted contestants in exclusive hotels in Miami for the show’s Boot Camp stage, so the lucky 160 singers stayed at the five-star Mondrian, Delano and Shore Club hotels, all of which overlook the beautiful beaches of South Beach.
But of course, back in the UK, Boot Camp hopefuls didn’t do quite so well, given they were accommodated in a Holiday Inn Express with views overlooking the River Mersey…
Yeah, really not comparable are they?
However, of the massive bill, a show insider said, “Singers on the British version of the show will be green with envy but Cowell stumped up $500,000 putting everyone up in plush hotels in Miami for boot camp.
“He wanted to give them a taste of the celebrity lifestyle and help propel them on to great things…”
In other news, X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos was said to be “devastated” after a friend who appeared with her in a controversial music video was shot dead.
Reece James, who was 20, was shot in the head in what police believe was a “pre-planned and targeted” attack.
The paper adds, “Also known by the street name ‘Stylie’, he had travelled 100 miles from his London home to an area of Bournemouth in Dorset blighted by Somali drug gangs.
Police found his body in Boscombe at around 2.30am near where dealers are said to operate. A 22-year-old man has been arrested.”
Reece was filmed earlier this month alongside Tulisa in a video which was shot at Church End housing estate in Harlesden, North West London.
It was in that video that Tulisa caused controversy by allegedly making a ‘C’ symbol with her hand, which is the sign used by Harlesden’s gun-toting Crime Scene Boys, who are also known as the Church Road Soldiers.
On Twitter last night, one post about Reece’s death read, “R.I.P My older g Stylie gone but never forgotton g!”
The shooting came just a day after three men were arrested nearby following a drugs raid.
Our final news snippet today is a much happier one…
It’s been reported that canine BGT star Pudsey, who of course won BGT this year with his partner Ashleigh Butler, has landed a role in a Hollywood movie.
He’ll star in Superdog, which is about a dog who lives “a double life.”
The Daily Star reports, “By day, Puds will be an everyday house pet. But by night, he becomes a superhero.”
A source said, “It’s an action film so he will be able to show off his nifty moves.”
Since Ashleigh and Pudsey won BGT in May, he’s also landed a £350,000 deal for his “autobi-dog-raphy”, been lined up as a judge on new ITV2 show Top Dog Model, and he is of course booked for the Royal Variety Performance.
