Plus, Georgia May Foote talks surrogate baby plotline, and Simon Gregson talks Steve’s love life
It’s been revealed today that in the next couple of weeks, Kirsty Soames is going to give birth to a baby girl who she and delighted new dad Tyrone Dobbs will name Ruby.
However, things are set to take a sinister turn when baby Ruby proves to be a grizzly infant who can’t settle, which stresses tired mum Kirsty out, and she reacts violently…
Tyrone, who’s at work in the garage, is first alerted by the neighbours that something’s very wrong at home – they hear the baby crying and Kirsty screaming at her – so he rushes home to find Kirsty smashing the place up!
Hurriedly grabbing baby Ruby, Tyrone rushes out of the house, waiting for Kirsty to clam down before he returns. But while he’s out of the house protecting the baby, he decides that he must leave the area with her to keep her out of harm’s way at her mother’s hands…
But later, when Kirsty swears yet again that she’ll seek help, Tyrone agrees to return with the baby, but can Kirsty keep that promise, or will she hurt Ruby?

In other Corrie news, but still on the subject of babies, Katy Armstrong is about to offer to have a baby for her sister Izzy – who of course recently had a miscarriage – however, as Georgia May Foote, who plays Katy, has revealed, Katy hasn’t really thought things through…
Speaking to the show’s official website, Georgia explained, “Katy can see that Izzy and Gary are suffering, so she just wants to help.
“The family are devastated when Izzy loses her baby and I also think Katy feels guilty because she had Joseph so easily, whereas Izzy is struggling so much.”
She added, “Gary is absolutely over the moon, but Izzy is slightly more hesitant as she wants make sure that Katy is doing it for the right reasons.”
But as mentioned, Georgia reckons Katy hasn’t thought through the consequences of her offer.
She explained, “It’s almost a knee-jerk reaction, because she can’t stand to see her sister suffering and she just wants to help in any way she can.”
Georgia went on to say that Katy’s boyfriend Ches isn’t overjoyed that she made such a huge offer without speaking to him about it first, but by far the biggest reaction is from Katy and Izzy’s dad, Owen.
Georgia revealed, “Owen reacts in his usual way – he goes about it in the worst way, shouting at the girls and ruining the christening.
“He upsets everybody, going in all guns blazing and telling the girls they have no idea what they are doing. It’s obviously left to Anna to calm him down!”
We’ll find out next month if Katy goes through with her offer, and the repercussions for the entire family of that decision.
Finally today, Simon Gregson – while also speaking on the show’s website – reckons Steve McDonald and Michelle Connor might have a good chance of making their rekindled romance work, primarily because, “Michelle isn’t as bonkers” as Steve’s other women!
He said, “I think Steve and Michelle make a good couple. She’s not as bonkers and she’s not as crazy as all the other girls there he’s been out with.
“They were great beforehand, just some very strange circumstances turned up to rock the relationship a little…
“They get together and everything’s fine and then Steve manages to mess it up again.”
Simon added, “As usual Barlow steps into the mix and everything goes Pete Tong.
“Tracy starts banging on that she’s not feeling very well and everybody thinks that she’s swinging the lead.
“It turns out that she isn’t very well and then Steve has to go and visit her in hospital and Steve says a load of stupid stuff because he thinks Tracy’s on her deathbed!
“So he thinks, ‘I’ll say a lot of stuff that she wants to hear because she’s going to pop her clogs’.
“She obviously goes and lives and then he’s got to deal with all that. I’ve absolutely no idea how Steve is going to talk his way out of this complete mess!
“He’s stuck again between two women.”
