Plus Kate Ford talks Toxic Tracy Barlow, and Kym Marsh says she has no concerns that her kids would take drugs

We’ll start today’s look at Corrie news with a sneak peek at Friday’s double bill of the soap, which will see Tina McIntyre finding her mate Tyrone Dobbs covered in bruises…

He of course sustains the injuries when his fiancé Kirsty Soames yet again attacks him, and up until now, he’s kept it a secret that he’s the victim of domestic violence, but of course, Tina’s not stupid and she realises exactly what’s going on.

However, as she’s talking to Tyrone about his bruises, they’re interrupted by Kirsty, so she has to leave the issue until she can get him on his own again.

Here’s the clip…

In other news, Kym Marsh has told TV Times that she has no worries that her own teenaged kids, 17-year-old David and 14-year-old Emily, will end up taking drugs like her on-screen son Ryan Connor has.

Kym, who of course plays Michelle Connor, said, “I’m very lucky where my kids are concerned; it’s not really in them to do drugs. They’re a bit like me in that sense.

“They don’t like anybody smoking; they’re just not into all that. My son freaks out if he thinks he’s taken too much aspirin!”

And when asked, “What sort of parent are you?” Kym replied, “I always say: ‘Be a friend first and be a parent when you need to be’, and that’s how I run our house.

“Kids need to trust you so that they can talk to you and, if you’re too ‘parenty’ all the time, they’re less likely to do that.

“So I’m very happy with the relationship we have, and I feel that no issue is taboo.”

Finally today, Kate Ford – who plays Tracy Barlow – has revealed that even when her character becomes desperately ill in forthcoming episodes, she STILL won’t stop trying to manipulate Steve McDonald into having a relationship with her.

We’ll see Tracy fall ill with a kidney infection next week, and as she only has one kidney, if it fails, she faces a life and death battle, so doctors immediately admit her to intensive care.

And when Steve pays her a visit, she sees that as a sign that he has feelings for her, but what she doesn’t know is that it is in fact Michelle Connor who he’s presently interested in getting back with.

However, Kate told Inside Soap, “Tracy’s obsession with Steve will last until the end of time.

“She’s more than slightly delusional where Steve is concerned.

“And she has much more trouble to cause before then!”

And of how Tracy tries to ruin any relationships Steve has, Kate said, “We’ve seen how Tracy’s behaved in the past when it comes to Steve and other women.

“She nearly destroyed poor Becky’s life.

“Plus, she’s well aware that Michelle is an attractive woman – so she’d definitely see her as stiff competition!”

Don’t miss the drama of Tracy’s collapse next week.
