Plus Dominic Brunt on Paddy’s wedding day heartache, and Liam Fox reveals that Chas and Dan sleep together!

There’s a good deal of drama and romance ahead on Emmerdale, and one woman who’s hoping to land herself a bloke is Kerry, Amy Wyatt’s feckless mother.

As we saw in last night’s episode, kind hearted Amy – and her caring foster parents Eric and Val – decided to offer Kerry a bed for the night when she was discharged from the hospital.

However, Kerry, never one to miss an opportunity to land on her feet, is in no hurry to move on, and reluctantly, Amy agrees to spend time with her mum and try to heal the rift between them.

But it’s not long before Kerry sets her sights on village bad lad Cain Dingle, who she spots in the pub. Her mum’s outrageous flirting infuriates Amy, who of course fell pregnant after a one night stand with Cain.

And as fans will recall, Amy had her baby boy alone and terrified in the church grounds before eventually reuniting with him briefly, only to then decide to give him up for adoption…

So when Amy tells Kerry all about it, and how cruel to her Cain was, Kerry’s horrified, but when her mum doesn’t say all the right things, Amy storms off.

Later, she returns to find Kerry packing so she gives her mum an ultimatum – either she wants to be in her life or she doesn’t. Kerry says she does, so Amy warns her to prove it by acting like a proper mum. Time will tell how that goes!

In other news, Dominic Brunt, who plays vet Paddy, has been telling What’s On TV that when Marlon drops the bombshell that he’s going to fight for custody of baby Leo – as of course Paddy and his soon to be new bride Rhona are off to New Zealand for two years, and they plan on taking Leo with them – it could be the end of their once close friendship.

Paddy and Rhona got together before she even knew she was pregnant with Marlon’s baby, and once Marlon got over his initial upset that Rhona had begun a relationship with his BFF Paddy, the trio settled into a pattern that enabled them all to share custody of the baby boy.

So, when Marlon reveals he’s applied for a court order to stop Paddy and Rhona taking Leo out of the country, the newlyweds plans are left in tatters.

Dominic said, “Paddy’s not just gutted, he’s devastated…

“And Paddy doesn’t think it’s right.

“The facts are that Paddy and Rhona didn’t know she was pregnant with Leo when they started their relationship.

“She and Marlon had already made a clean break – or so they thought.

“Then they found out Rhona was pregnant before they’d hardly had any time together. Should this then mean that Rhona and Paddy are beholden to Marlon for ever?”

And when asked if Paddy and Rhona would go to New Zealand without the baby, Dominic said, “Absolutely not. Rhona and Paddy are Leo’s principal parents. She’s his mother and would never go without him and nor would Paddy.

“Marlon is Leo’s biological father, but Paddy’s bringing him up and feels like Leo’s dad.”

Don’t miss that drama of the wedding day next week, which incidentally is when Chas Dingle and Dan Spencer become very close indeed…

Liam Fox, who plays Dan, has been telling Soaplife about the storyline, which has seen his character Dan flirting with Chas for a few weeks. But never in his wildest dreams did Dan ever think that he and Chas might become an item.

However, as Chas is still on the rebound from her affair with Cameron, Dan offers her what she thinks she needs, which is flattery and an ego boost…

So after Chas and Dan get a bit tipsy at Paddy and Rhona’s wedding reception, they end up spending the night together.

Of that, Liam said, “We all know who is and isn’t in our league, but we don’t like admitting it.

“But Dan just wants to ignore it. He thinks, ‘Why the hell not?’ Chas invites him to the back of the pub for a drink and then kisses him. He’s blown away.

“He’s been hoping for it, but never really expected it. He’s a bit like a big kid in a sweet shop and everything’s free.”

However, Liam added that he can’t see any good outcome for his character in this situation.

He said, “I know that at some point his heart will be broken.”

Aww bless him!
